2011 photo yearbook project day #7
It's finally Friday!!! So happy beyond words. Somehow I managed to make it through my day (albeit zombie-like) and then I got to rush home and then my sister and I did some shopping and brought home dinner. We did good finding cute clothes on clearance, using gift cards, and coupons galore. Yes! I was a bit too starving, too, so I meant to take a pic before I ate but only remembered after I consumed the majority of my delicious, spicy, Mongolion BBQ noodle goodness:

2011 photo yearbook project day #6
It's almost Friday!! My sister came back from her holiday break so I spent a lot of time on the road driving to and from work, the airport, and home. 405 freeway, you are the bane of my existence. But I got to finally get my Christmas goodies AND some bonus surprises, like Malnati's pizza (which I have been craving, especially since I read an article just yesterday about The Lou and the new Chicago Classic and bam, some pieces showed up inside my sister's luggage, yum!) and Christmas cookies. Hehehe, belly so full.
I also got other goodies, like this adorable backpack by Paperchase:
Funny, but I actually saw this a few weeks ago and almost bought it myself (but Matt stopped me because he said it was too small). Good thing I didn't buy it because my mommy bought it for me instead! I love it. I love Paperchase stuff, they always have such cute prints. It was a funny holiday season because my mom and I had the exact line of thinking for every gift. Go figure! Great minds think alike, I guess.

2011 photo yearbook project day #5
Yet another long and crazy day today. But I survived, even though I got asked some weird/crazy questions at work. Still more bonding with my co-worker which is happy and good in light of the frustrating things there sometimes - it's good to be reassured that I'm not crazy and it's really them :P Tomorrow my sister comes back from Chicago. I can't believe how time has flown by. Hopefully she'll have a normal on-time flight even though she has a million things to pack and haul back here. Oops.
Nothing too exciting today, but I'm dedicating today's photos to my crazy hammie sisters. I always give them 2 TP cardboard rolls every time we clean their hamitat and their favorite part is to attack, rip and shred any remnants of TP off of them. I've learned to leave a few squares on every roll just so they have something fun to play with every time. I think since it's been so cold, they've decided that the TP makes great extra bedding to huddle together and stay warm so they mix the shredded bits up with their paper and aspen bedding. The funny thing is, wherever I leave the rolls, they'll rip it off and build their nest right at that spot. Check out this mess (and a hammie butt):
Silly hammies! But I love them anyway. Hammie sisters love each other so much that Zippy always helps Bella groom, too:
Go hammies! They always make me smile :)

2011 photo yearbook project day #4
Long day...from being roped into a wild goose chase at the end of the workday which resulted in some unpleasantness to running around looking for Matt's joe's o's for dinner, I'm totally pooped. I did bond with one of my co-workers today so that was a major plus. Note to self: the TJs near my apt, although close, sucks and never has anything I want or need. Too bad I had to backtrack and go to the other one I had already passed on the way home. Go with instinct next time!
I managed to salvage a bad situation and popped into the Old Navy after I gathered up the o's. I found some cute stuff on clearance! Which is perfect now that I'm mostly shopping with 'work clothes' in mind. And with the gift cards I've earned over the past few months, I got a big chunk of my clearance items for free basically :) Also, Valentine's Day is around the corner and they had some cute little plushies at the checkout. I couldn't resist this face:

2011 photo yearbook project day #3
Happy Monday! Today was so hard to wake up and be excited for work. Plus it didn't help that it was dark, cold and rainy. A Monday AND the first full week in a long time after being spoiled by all the holidays, bleh.
Today's photo is of the joyous book (and other assorted materials) I'll be spending some up close and personal time with during the next couple of months.
Looks super fun, right? My Bar prep class officially starts today. I opted for the online only version this time around and it actually works better for my schedule as it turns out. The materials and lectures are the same as last time so I know to skip the lectures that weren't helpful the first time around. I think my time would be better spent doing practice problems and reviewing rather than sitting around listening to gibberish.
Matt also showed up tonight with this:
We had seen this toy at Target for ages leading up to Christmas and I forgot how much Matt loved him. When we went on Saturday, we saw he was on clearance and I totally forgot about him, but apparently Matt didn't. So he went back tonight to get him and he's unbelievably happy and excited. Boys are silly, right? He does all sorts of crazy things, I guess, but the batteries haven't charged yet so we'll have to wait and see!
On a slightly sad note, talking to a client today made me think about life and how fleeting things can be. I think it also motivated me to study and pass the Bar, if only just because I feel like being an attorney would mean I could make a real difference in the world (or at least in someone's smaller world). I also feel really thankful for my life and everyone in it...yeah totally emo, I know, but be sure to hug your loved ones today and every day! It's always good to remember to feel appreciative for the simple things in life even if it takes some sadness to remind you sometimes.

2011 photo yearbook project day #2
Happy Sunday! Today was another cold and rainy one for us. Not too sure what's been up with this LA weather the past few weeks. It was pretty chill for us. We decided to catch a movie in the afternoon and check out the new Arclight theater they opened up in Manhattan Beach. They basically gutted out an already existing theater and renovated it into an Arclight that opened up in November. I've only been to the Arclight in Hollywood once (to see 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' years ago) and it was fun. This Arclight wasn't bad, but the parkng was a bit confusing to figure out (but thankfully it was free).
Matt's not big on movies so whenever we go, we tend to watch animated films. I figure you're guaranteed to at least see something cute or funny which is better than ending up with a crap movie you blew a bunch of bucks on just to see. Since it opened in November, I've wanted to see Disney's 'Tangled' so I bought our tickets.
If you're not familiar with Arclight, you can pre-purchase tix online and it's assigned seating - no need to go super early to fight people for seats anymore!) Buying online also got me a $1 off each ticket. Last row, aisle seat - score!
Concessions are a bit limited but they did include popcorn with real butter, fresh caramel corn, sausage baguettes with 2 sauces (one even being watermelon BBQ, I think) and smoothies. Matt had a hot dog and I had some popcorn - of the butter and caramel variety. I saw a segment on Food Network's 'The Best Thing I Ever Ate' claiming that this caramel corn was the best ever, so I had to try it for myself.
Although it's pretty tasty, I can't say it beats my all-time fav of Garrett's in Chicago. Once you've had that, it's hard to find anything that even comes close. The movie was fun, though, although it was a bit more sad than I thought it'd be. But you can't really go wrong with Disney princesses and Rapunzel was definitely cute. I think we'd go back to the Arclight since it's closer to us than AMCs are, but we don't see movies that often anyway. Fun stuff though, and the night was capped off with some yummy Round Table pepperoni pizza, as always :)

2011 photo yearbook project day #1
Happy new year! And happy day #1 of my 2011 photo yearbook project! Actually I'm going to start off the first day with 2 photos to document what we did today. I didn't mean to take 2 but it just sorta happened. I'm also going to add the photos to my newly created '2011 photo yearbook' page (see tab above) to make it fun to scroll through as I go forward.
Today was a quiet day for us, much like New Year's Eve was a quiet night. I got and used a 25% off Michael's coupon to buy the following crafty stash:
We had a nice cashier but she got confused so easily. I had a 40% off one regular priced item coupon to go along with the 25% and for whatever reason, the 40% off coupon doesn't automatically apply to the most expensive item. After some shuffling between some locking stitch markers and a bag of pom poms, it turned out she accidentally removed the stitch markers (which were the most expensive item anyway) and took the 40% off the poms. So then I ended up with the markers (those lovely ones to the left of those pastel poms) for free - WHOOPS. Love my new yarns though. That furry brown one will be used to crochet a small monkey (probably like a marmoset). Crafts!
We also took a trip to the gym, which I haven't done in so long. Matt took me to see the 24 Hour Fitness in Hermosa because he prefers playing basketball there. I did cardio while he played and was on the Precor for 1 1/2 hours, yeesh! Needless to say, I'm in so much pain, my legs are so sore and I feel dead right now, ouch. We were going to go yesterday but 1) Matt couldn't find his basketball and 2) when he called, the gym seemed closed. Oops. So we went to Target instead and he got a cool new Spaulding ball - see how happy he is?
And yes, he autographed his own ball -__-
